After 32 years of successful working life in marketing and communication, Irmgard MEIR was led by an altruistic vision to Benin. Her only one slogan was to take part in a better way into the socio-educational care of orphans and vulnerable children, into the development of young people skills and above all those left out from the classical education system so as to make their integration into the work environment easy.

Irmgard MEIER, president and founder of the NGO Bouge came in Benin in July 2006. After some experiments in several NGOs involved in the fight against unhappy childhood, she decided to create the NGO Bouge. The latter will be officially registered in the Department of the Interior and published in the Republic of Benin’s Official Gazette respectively on September 11th and November 1st 2007.

The name Bouge means a dynamic to induce positive changes in the lives of vulnerable strata of the population including orphans and vulnerable children, young people taken out of the school system and agricultural producers.
